If you read my Gobare Studio anniversary blog today, you know this season of my life and business has been deeply reflective. Seventeen years of Gobare has brought a lot of gratitude — but also a renewed commitment to alignment, intention, and honesty. That same mindset carries directly into Glowshroom Apothecary.
Running a small-batch product line sounds romantic — and in many ways, it is — but 2025 has brought its own set of challenges that I want to openly share with you.
As a small-batch brand, one of the biggest struggles we face is scale. The lab we work with has minimum order sizes that don’t always align with the quantities we’re able (or comfortable) producing at any given time. On top of that, the required unit quantities per order can sometimes change, making planning and forecasting more difficult than most people realize.
Up until now, we’ve been incredibly lucky. For the past two years, our skincare line has largely avoided major disruptions. However, we’re beginning to see shifts — ingredient availability and supply costs are starting to fluctuate, and that can impact what’s possible during the manufacturing process.
What I want to be very clear about is this: I will always choose integrity over convenience.
Every Glowshroom Apothecary product is held to the same non-negotiable standard — clean, organic, free from harsh chemicals, free from unnecessary fillers, and free from synthetic fragrances. If at any point a product cannot be manufactured to meet those standards, I would rather lovingly say goodbye to it than compromise what Glowshroom stands for.
That may not always be the easiest path as a business owner, but it’s the only one that feels right to me.
This mindset is deeply connected to the pause I took earlier this year — stepping back from constant content creation, Amazon links, and the pressure to do everything. I realized that my energy is best spent protecting what matters most: the quality of what I create, the trust you place in me, and the long-term sustainability of both Gobare and Glowshroom Apothecary.
The good news? Everything we currently have in stock is made in the same formulas you know and love. Nothing has changed — and if anything ever does, you’ll hear it from me first.
I promise to keep you informed every step of the way as we navigate this evolving landscape. Transparency will always be part of this brand.
Thank you for supporting small-batch, values-driven brands. Your support allows us to continue choosing quality, care, and intention — even when it’s not the easiest option.
With gratitude, Kristin Dagilis Founder, Glowshroom Apothecary
